Barre-a-thon 2024

A community event to benefit Girls on the Run, NH. Hosted by Olivia Allen, an official Solemate of GOTR NH.

Why I'm a SoleMate ...

In 2018 I volunteered to be a Girls on the Run coach, so I could be more involved in my community. I knew I wanted to be a part of these girls lives and help them reach their goals. But after my first season I learned that GOTR is SO MUCH MORE. Not only did the girls learn, grow, build friendships and bond with one another, I grew too, and became a better parent, friend, and community member. (Not to mention completing a 5K!) Because I am raising a daughter of my own, I love the idea of having a safe space for her to be able to grow, be fearless, be vocal, and be supported, all while learning about the importance of mental health and physical education. I want to be someone she looks up too, responds too, and trusts. GOTR allows me to do all of that while empowering young girls to find their own voices, navigate their emotions, and be their best selves. Through this Barre-a-Thon I want community members to feel empowered too! I want to challenge our bodies to do amazing things while raising funds for an incredible organization dear to my heart. Through Barre Fitness and Ballet Class, let's come together as a community to make magic happen.

Class Descriptions:
  • 8:00am Barre
    • Barre is a ballet inspired workout class that incorporates small movements with small weights, and small ball and body weight. It combines strength, cardio, and flexibility. You will workout to upbeat music in a positive and fun atmosphere while feeling aspects of ballet infused into the workout.
  • 9:00am Ballet
    • Adult Ballet is an open level class. For one hour we focus on barre work, center work, and progressions across the floor. This class will focus on proper alignment, technique and vocabulary while creating a fun and engaging atmosphere exploring ballet technique. Some experience is recommended, but all adults are welcomed! Bring a water bottle and wear ballet slippers if you have them, otherwise socks are fine.

Check out this video I did live on Facebook for the 2023 Barre-a-Thon! Listen to the Barre-a-Thon details, try a little ballet, and learn how your gift of a donation will help Girls on the Run NH.
What your gift can do for GOTR!

  • $35 can sponsor a pair of running shoes for one girl.
  • $50 can help keep our girls safe by funding CPR and First Aid training for two coaches.
  • $75 can support 5K medals at the finish line for 3 teams.
